How is Palliative Care paid for?

Palliative care is covered by insurance, just like any other visit to a physician specialist. Except, in our case, we can surround the patient with a team of people to support this part of their life.  There's a doctor and nurses, of course, but also people to provide emotional and spiritual support.

Who should ask for Palliative Care?

Anyone dealing with a chronic condition such as, but not limited to, Alzheimer's Disease, dementia, cancer, heart disease, liver disease, lung disease, AIDS, and stroke could be a candidate for palliative care.

How do we get Palliative Care?

Your physician can request a consultation by Palliative Care Services while you are in the hospital, in a long-term care facility or you can get a physician referral to become a patient in our Palliative Care Services clinic.
